It could be the computer overheating. What kind of cooling do you have?

Sometimes it could be to protect your computer.
Mine used to do that. Then I got antivirus. And a cooling pad :b

Yeah, it could be the Power Supply or you could be using up all your RAM or CPU and in some cases causes it to shutdown.

My old desctop used to shut down during the summer due to graphics card overheating, it was allright during the winter tho, atleast some benefit on winters.
