Even 50/60 is very difficult. I have an i7 920, 6 gigs if 1600mhz ddr3 ran with 7-7-7-20 timings (quality stuff), and 2 gts 250 sli'd. I am just now getting 60 fps. And it does dip down to 40's in the benchmark utility. However even with one gts 250, it was playable. Maybe 25/40?

This isn't maxed though. Things lie draw distance and shadow density were set lower.

I don't know as much about the last gen on cards othe than the 9800 and the 250 (basically a 9800 ++) but I'm guessing you might need to either sli, or sell that one to buy another.

A laptop maxing out gta....heh that gonna cost a LOT more.

I invested a bit more than needed in extra fans, a new CPU cooler, a slightly more expensive case, and SLI instead of just buying a new card. However the gts 250 sli is very good value for the money. About the same performance of a gtx 275 or even a 285 for a similar price. Always better to go for the single card though. Saves power draw and let's you sli later more.

This isn't counting mouse keyboard and screen. Which adds maybe 300-400 more.

Oh what size screen? I'm using 1920x1080 and basing my answers on that. If you are using a smaller res, you won't need as much.

gabiel, idk mich about gtaIV but all i know is if you want to play games at a good speed, get a comp with the nVidia Gtx 480 in it :v but idk if thta in ur price range
