Haven't heard anything about anyone playing FIFA on a ps2 in years.

My point is that, say Bethesda makes a new game while the new consoles are released. They are probably going to release it on the new ones and not the old ones, because why waste time with the old generation when they could have their game looking bright and shiny on the new one? Thus people will have to buy the new consoles to play the new games, save for the minorities which you seem to think are so important for some reason.

The xbox360 and ps3 will still sell, and games for them will still be sold. Just not new ones.

Your friends may have cute new consoles, but south east asian is flooded with PS2s. It's still very popular (as is proven by the sales and dev figures).

I'm not sure why you would think the most prevalent console in the world is a minority...

Also yeah, disregarding zxan, the reason why people are expecting ps4 to be released years after the new xbox is simply because of the graphics processing. The graphics on crysis 3 are basically as good as they're going to get for xbox 360, but if I'm not mistaken, the ps3 can still support even better graphics than that, which is why they don't need to release a new console.

On topic: A new console would be nice, but if Sony are making a new console, Microsoft aren't too far behind. Buuuut, I am a dedicated Xbox gamer so I probably will keep my money 'til Microsoft release something fresh.

Well, just because a new console comes out doesn't mean you need to buy it, and it doesn't mean you need to stop playing old consoles. Old games and systems are great. American commercialism is sickening, it's no wonder the country is so broken.
