Make sure you're not actually putting stuff in those brackets.

it'd be:
/pass password

Then like
/set mod mod.tbm
/set engagedistance 100

Etc.

Yeah, the mods are case sensitive, so check them out in the /data/mods folder.
If it says say ... MoD.tbm
You have to type /set mod MoD.tbm for it too work !

what im saying is, i cant seem to load mods with capitals at all, even when i type the mod name with appropriate caps. . .

Just cahgne the mod names to Lower case

Um, the mods are actually server-side. So you can only do it on the computer that is running the server.
Ive had this problem Popart, i just type it in tons of times and it ends up working.
