interesting. but i have a power pc mac with some crappy graphics card. and 256mb of ram. So it would cost a lot to make this good. my dad might be getting me a netbook and my brother wanted me to figure out if ps3 or xbox is better because hes buying one soon.

If not, the PS3 would have a lot of added value for you. My mom uses it all the time to watch movies, blu ray or otherwise.

TBH, once you get absorbed into a game, you will forget about graphics and button layout.
Even with the horrendous jaggies in GTA IV, I still enjoyed it as much as any other pc game.

Did you have any particular games you want to play though? I'd look at those instead of just console vs console.

well no we don't have blu ray lol.
and we wanted MW2 and another game. maybe infamous, i was thinking the new street fighter. idk though it would be my brothers choice. he wants a ps3. idk what i want.

Well in that case, yeah I'd recommend PS3.
