i like fractals i make them all the time..
ive been wanting to make some abstract heads here myself..
but am probably going to do some C4D styles to see how they come out.
i love doing C4D stuff.

its not to bad for a first one if your not use to working with graphical programs..
if your wanting to remove the seam in the back.. you can take the image and create a second layer then mirror it..
remove half of the layer that was mirrored and it should become seamless..
if that makes sense to ya..
