It looks like its made out of plastics, but that is not a downside, I love that it looks like that. Reminds me of the silver age of the SciFi movies and comics.

You can get the .blend file here. Just find the post with the ray gun. It's green and white. In the file, it's green and white. Just change the material diffuse colors for different colors.
