I'm getting that aswell, I'm Also using Ubuntu, btw.

As of now, all the servers I've tried are working fine. Try connecting again in a few minutes

I'm having the same sort of problem, last night i got toribash up and i tried to go into multiplayer. Not connected, Not connected etc etc.

I tried again this morning. Same thing, not connected.

It happens sometimes, just wait it out for a couple of minutes and everything should be fine.

Maybe you internet is slow and you pinging
