What were you going for a drawing type style? Also gimp is one of the most user friendliest program there is, its more user friendly (to me) than photo shop. You can make some sick drawings on gimp, I have and if you want to see what you can draw pm me ill give you some examples.

So all in all I give the avatar a 4.5/10 considering how easy it would be to make. It looks good, but to simple.

Cool pose I really like it! But I think you should bold the lines, it'll be better I think if the lines are darker, and maybe like adding black white background is a good idea overall : 9/10
