PS4 wont be this year. They'll announce it & possibly show a case, but the hardware's far from finalised. They'd have to have it in full production by early spring for a Winter 2013 release, and after the fiasco with the PS3 they're taking the smart route & not rushing.
Plus Sony already confirmed the PS3 was going to have 7 year minimum before a new machine so it'll most likely be fall 2014 if they decide to keep to that.

To answer the OP, depends on how much stuff you've got for it & how much you want one. If you've got a large collection then replacing the machine would make sense.

*Not, and you can get a PS3 for much less than 500 bucks.

*Yes.
Please don't turn this in to a "PS3 vs. PC" thread. Discuss the topic.

My opinion is that if you have to get it now i would choose Xbox. If you want console and can wait get the coming Xbox.

Still good PC is easily the best.
PC has more games. More FPS than consoles. Better graphics than consoles.
Mods and everything.

And if you need you can use Xbox/playstation controller on PC.

fuck

sure
besides, it's obvious that a ps3 is cheaper than a gaming computer

OP: Just buy the one you want, if you have a preference in games then I'd take that more into account, unless you're pondering buying a PC.
