IIRC the current alive versions are 10.8 & 10.9, not sure about the status of 10.7 currently but it's due to be cut by Apple. 10.6 Is pretty much dead.

If you're updating then it's really only worth going to the latest one, no point getting something outdated since it'll just mean having to do it again sooner.
