It's only necessary to sell corrupting potion or doran's items when you 100% need the slot

Guy certainly knew how to play and farm, I only managed to kill him once during lane phase and he wasn't losing much farm, maybe 20 cs, that's why I decided to roam a bit and farm champions instead. Too bad I don't have any skin for cho.

Generally speaking, you should keep the items you start off with unless they're upgradeable until you need the item slot.

Doran's items and corrupting potion are extremely stat efficient (corrupt pot gets more and more cost effective every use) and it's only worth it to sell it when it becomes slot inefficient (aka full slots and need to sell for something bigger)

Meh. Selling it is fine, as long as it's not specifically at the same point of every game for no reason. Depends what you're selling it for. Obviously selling corrupt pot for gold to finish an item that makes a difference is ok(ex: youmuus on pantheon to make ults go better), selling it to pick up a longsword or something that barely changes your damage is not.
