i think the meaning of the thread could be taken multiple ways. he could either be asking what you personally like in a song, or what everybody as a whole would prob like in a song. you take the latter meaning. you are both right about the meaning you took, but in reality, there are no wrong answers for the first meaning. They are audible, but you have just been listenging to over produced albums for far too long.
Also the riffs can ruin the whole band as well. I would not stand by to hear a good vocalist over shitty riffs. That's why I like Nuclear Assault
