Since the force of gravity is always acting on an object no matter where that object is, there is always a downward pull of 10 m/sВ (or 10 m/s every second), thus the acceleration is constant.

Now, the distance the object falls can get confusing due to the build-up.

Because it starts at a speed of 0 m/s and gains 10 m/s every second it falls, the average speed is the distance it falls, not the speed at the end of every second.

(0 m/s + 10 m/s) ї 2 = 5 m/s

Thus, the distance traveled after one second is five meters. However, because it goes from 10 m/s to 20 m/s from the first second to the second second, the average speed of that second is added to the distance of the last second.

[(10 m/s + 20 m/s) ї 2] + 5 m = 20 m

Thus, after two seconds, the ball has fallen 20 m.

1 s = 5 m

2 s = 20 m

3 s = 45 m

4 s = 80 m

And so forth.

You have not taken into account of air resistance.
It will not have much of an effect on the speed,but if you want to get technical about it,you should have included that.

True, air resistance slows down the acceleration rate, but every example I give neglects air resistance unless I specifically say it doesn't.
