Well...I made a simmiliar one




And I think your was a bit short...but I understand you at this part because blender renders so slow when you have fluid simulations(at least in my case).

You could add some transparency to it and it will look better...

someone else made something like that but the used someone's head texture as the blob of water and added a top hat on it :P

How is that possible? Fluids can't have UV coordinates, because they don't even have a consistent amount of vertices. How can you map an image to it properly?
