The big deal is that 50% fun of Toribash is on forums. You have items board, Shop, Market, Art/Textures, Events, News and the most important one, Clans.
From my point of view, a person who starts from toribash AND forum have a better future in toribash than those who only limit themselves to multiplayer.
Also, posting in forum is not "important". It is fun once you get the hang of it.

Np. You have to find that place yourself. ;o
It is different for different players. If you want Tc, go to events thread for some quick tc or if you wanna make friends, join a friendly clan and much more. It all depends on your interest.
For me, the best and most fun place for me is raku clan board. It is like a home to me.
