Too repetative. You use a simple grunge style with 45 degrees smear. This can work sometimes, but on for example "Mechwarrior" it doesn't. The text is also not well blended to the signature, like the render. You should have some layers above the render layer as well, and try to make a new background style.
The text shouldn't be as focal as it is here. Try to pick a dominant color and use a fancy blending mode for it to fit in. Gimptalk has lots of tutorials on this.
You can also try to use C4D's to work more on the flow and depth. The flow stream is generally off, as the render points one way, and the smear the other.
