Pretty simple i just need to know a nice way to recolour a texture, thats easy and not too time comsuming.

use hue and sat after selecting the area you want to recolor

This is easy, but you will make the quality lower/image badder.
Use Color>Hue Saturation or Color>Colorize
And
If you want to recolor it in a better and the quality better, ask for the psd because PSDs can be opened in both gimp and photoshop....
