How to add a marker?
Using gimp I can make these lines to make divisions in the image, that way you can know where are you drawing (I need to make textures ) (sorry for the little image, i took it from youtube cause my gimp isn't working )

pretty sure its the same way, you just click and drag from the ruler on the sides of the screen for one. If not, let me know ill go on ps on my laptop and tell/show you

If I click on the side of the screen I just move the image window...

Are you clicking the ruler on the side or the...side of the window?(Probably because you dont have the window full size)

Alright, Go to View-> Rulers. Or press Ctrl + R. Then its exactly the same as GIMP.

You should post how it turns out.

You can use the ruler to create the guides, but you need to have "view extras" enabled to see them...
