well, I already know 2d art isn't my forte, but the assignment was to take a picture of ourselves, and put it into a different background

so basically I'll probably have the best image, which is probably a bad thing.

I posted it here to get critique, because I'm sure I won't get much at school.

NutHug may have use a tutorial, but he didn't do everything exactly the same, he implemented new ideas and concepts into it making it his own, which is exactly what you're supposed to do with tutorials. if you do a tutorial and end up getting exactly what the tutorial portrayed, you're not using enough imagination, and probably won't learn much from it.
