I've actually seen the White Stripes perform before thy hit it big.Still a fan of theirs today.

I've always liked The White Stripes, Jack White is definitely one of my inspirations.

And whats the beef with having "The" at the start of those band names.

"The" completely changes the name of the band and that difference is what they were going for, if I complained about every metal band that made a reference to "fire" or "death" or "Metal" I wouldn't shut up.
