Vista is clearly the problem and hiding the file. It may probably not allow editing or using of the file from "third party sources" because it thinks it's a system file, which is just silly.

Protip for vista usage : disable all of that useless security babble, all that you can, re-enable firewall, get spyware S&D and avast, all you need.
