I have just bout a bumpmap right thigh texture and have activated it and everything . but it isn't showing on my tori. how do i get this to show

Bumpmaps have some temporary bugs, seems like they dont show up with non shaders (in 3.8 that is).

Will be fixed soon, at the moment I dont know whats the problem.

oh ok that might explain it i am on un-shadered 3.8.

Well you didnt actually waste them, since they are there and will be fixed.
If you look at that way temporarily you have "wasted" the 10k, but that will work in the next versions.
