There's a rumor going around the internet that when 3.0 comes out we will have to pay to update our reg keys. is this true??

Might be, probably not. Many of the registered users (including me) are already pissed at all the servers the demo users get anyway.

Yeah, the demo users kind of need their own servers, because most of them are sort of unskilled and/or n00b.
