If you are 'unranked', you have to wait a day before you get a rank.

Moved to Beginner's Sanctuary.

Win games > Rank goes up.
Lose games/people win more than you > Rank goes down.

Now the rank is depends on your belt. For example, I'm a Master belt and 30th rank. So, i'm 30th among Masters.
Also, if you winning games your rank going up, but if you lose matches, rank going down

You begin as 'unranked' because there are alot of accounts that do not play, or are just made, so they have no qi. So many players and accounts with little or no qi is too much to count, so they mark you as unranked, or they are updating your stats. But as you earn more qi, you'll get a rank, because less and less accounts have higher qi.
