What the title said.

This morning when I left for school my ipod was at full charge. Then 8 hours later when I come back it's dead and it was off the whole time. I then try plugging in the usb... guess what. Not detected. I tried everything in my knowledge. I looked in device manager, usb not located in Universal serial bus drives. And all these guides tell me to look in the "portable devices" tab, But I can't find it.

Any suggestions? I don't wanna go around uninstalling stuff in the device manager without some help from you guys.

Have you tried physically hard-resetting the iPod device?

well, that's the problem. My ipod is out of battery. :/

Does the ipod light up or anything to indicate it's plugged in? Because it should be charging as soon as it's plugged in. I dont have an Ipod Touch but I've had ipods before and it's pretty much the same.

well, I fixed the problem by restarting several times.

Same thing happend to me, I just kept trying over and over again and it worked.
