I try to turn on the shaders and it doesn't work, it just stays the same. i know its my computer that cant handle it im just wondering what exactly the shaders rely on.

Shaders rely on video card yes by making the game graphics better and much more cooler, for instants, blood stays on the ground, joints are smooth and ground has reflection and much more, also background is available.
