Children of 2010
Theres a very big question in my exam I had today, And i thought you all would like to discuss the matter..

'Are kids being forced to grow up to quickly.'

I wrote 2.5 pages on it.
Yeah, I guess so.

Most of the children doesn't even play more when they have reached the 11 of age, because they think they are small adults now.

When people grow up, and are adults, then many will miss their childhood.

/Sorry if I'm not talking about your topic
Toribash has actually caused me to grow up faster. In order to not be regarded as a dumb little kid, I needed to act more mature, which then carried on into my real life. I think the question phrases this as a bad thing. I don't think it's bad to be growing up fast. If children grow up faster, they're more prepared for the real world, and aren't surprised about how unfair everything is.

Modern society likes to put pressure on youth to grow up faster, be mature earlier, or act like it anyway.
I can't think of any disadvantages -apart from, maybe, stress- for the moment but I'm pretty sure it's unhealthy to grow up faster than one is supposed to.

And I doubt you can prepare a person for the 'real world' all that much, even if they mature quickly, they still won't have dealt with serious problems and the likes unless they've actually been in the situation because of i.e. their parents. The only real way to prepare someone is through experience, this applies to everything.

Agreed. Modern influences pressure children to grow up faster than they should, and in a way that isn't too fair. I'm not trying to grow up too quickly because you can't do any of this over. Encouraging children to not savor childhood doesn't seem right. Feels more like the children should choose when they want to start maturing, realistically.

I sort of agree, I think they grow fast, but then get stuck in there teens.

With the bands and, Disney channel and all this "Pro Teen Programming" they want to become a teenager, because they think it is so great. The kids of today, are not as mature as when our parents were kids. Too many kids swear, and act like punks or black gangsters. (That comment is not racist, but there is a difference between white and black gangsters).
My seniority means you should probably just agree with everything I say

I guess all of the mature members have made me act more mature, such as better grammar and stuff. I'm kind of mature irl though.
Well kids are being forced to grow up quickly.

When you look at all the 12~14 year old girls that are pregnant...
Next time you walk downtown, have a look at all the little kids wearing their caps backwards, and "fashionable". So in a sence it is commercialism forcing kids to grow up quickly.

And now a quick question to you.
~When is the last time you swang on a swing?
~Is it not fun?

Thats exactly right! it still is fun but we have "grown" out of it...

On the other side of the story their are S.N.A.K's, Sensitive New Age Kids.
Who are being forced down by these new "mature" kids.

~What is the world coming to...
