With the Alienware its cheaper, and even has better specs, don't get an alienware though, do whatever your freind has in mind.

i have a mac and i think its pretty good. but there are times when i wish i bought a pc instead.

I have a mac. Love it. The only time I dont love it is when I try to download games. Its practically impossible to find a good game that works on macs.

mainly cuz OSX uses the specs alot more efficently, like having 2GB of ram is like 3 or 4 on XP,

also you can install both XP and mac OSX onto a mac

In this case, why are you even considering Mac? That's just ridiculous.

What you want to do is buy the parts you need to build a computer and assemble them yourself. You can save some big bucks this way.

If this friend of yours knows what he's doing, go with it.
