then under it "Connected to *ip addres*"
and in the middle of the screen it says "not connected"
no matter what server\room i try to log on to!!>??

That's a ping timeout error.

You should try again a few times and it should work.

i also have something similar but is just says "cannot connect" but i do have 3.5 due to linux being so f**ked up and all?

For linux, you'll have to use this.

I have the same problem as PureDark66 but I use Windows 8.

but i am in the richt updates a couple of updates further but science i got blue belt a week ago i can't conect to a server once i got a message to relog me so i did but nothing changed

Please don't bump threads that are 4 years old.
Do what SlipAnc said above if you're getting a ping timeout.

Also if you're trying to connect to the same rooms you were playing at when you had green belt, you won't be able to do that due to qi restrictions. Try other rooms.
