I like the idea. Shading is very good too. and the eyes... they are just epic.

i just dislike the thing on top pf the eyes but maybe its just about the angle you see it

It looks cool but maybe add more wrinkles on the forehead? I'll give in 9.5/10. Good job man

Edit: also, it reminds me more of an alien rather than a monster

Looks to me more like a skull. There's the cheeks' holes and the nostrils.
Nonetheless, this head texture gets a 10/10!

For some odd reason I feel like that the back of the head doesn't blend together that well with the rest of the parts.. that is the only flaw that I see in that head other then that good work.
