No offence, but both have cheap effects.

The first one is simply rubbish.

That is making me cry.
Poor Gimp, had to be used to make that.
No offense, but go and buy Photoshop or Paint Shop Pro.
Really, I can make better in Paint.NET

Paint.Net is free, and much more efficient than Gimp.

Efficient maybe, better in terms of complexity and range of tools, no.

EDIT: er... whenever i tryto go there it comes up with and internet explorer error...

the forums on planetrenders.net have some good gimp and ps tuts but you gotta look hard to find the gimp ones
