For the first tip, play first play a lot. And I mean a lot. Experiment with different joint movements and attacks. And find out the difference between relaxing, holding, contracting, and extending. And also, put the term physics into the picture. Since there are many joints, start from scratch by just using 2 joints at a time and then move up. Don't move many joints if you don't know what your doing. Just start from your way up and take it slow. Do not rush yourself and do not get frustrated. Good luck.
