I'd hate to sound like an elitist/Danzos/ale here, but he really did try to act smarter than he is (from what I've observed). I mean, I'm smart and all, but it's not like I'm going around trying to do math like suo.

Also, he probably could have ignored Danzos's insulting instead of provoking more.
