I think you could put plenty more effort into that...
all it is pretty much is solid colors put in certain areas and a blend thing on edges.
You should add eyes,tubes,glows, and it'd look way better.
It's a good novice head, but I suggest making another one of it.

With the drop shadow all around the plate at the top it looks like it's not connected to the rest. As if it is floating.
