If you tick the shaders option and it unticks itself, that means that your graphics card cannot enable (handle) shaders.

Read here for more information.

Please provide more information regarding the white box.
BAD LUCK
The link shows the minimum requirements to play Toribash, use shaders, and run ray-tracing.

A) Toribash Requirements.

Toribash has three levels of requirements:
The default graphics are low resource intensive and designed to work on as many computers as possible.
Shaders are designed to enhance the games looks further, but requires more from your computer.
Real Time Ray Tracing (RTRT) is designed mostly for use with movie making with Toribash, and not for playing, and is very demanding.

Minimum requirements:
Intel: GMA 950 (or GMA Mobile 945) and up.
ATI/AMD: X-Series 300 and up, Radeon-Series 9600 and up.
Nvidia: Geforce 6000 and up.

Recommended Minimum:
Intel: Core i-Series integrated GPU (still glitchy)
ATI/AMD: Radeon HD-Series 4650 and up.
Nvidia: Geforce 8xxx-Series and up.

RTRT Minimum:
Intel: Core i-Series integrated GPU (still glitchy)
ATI/AMD: Radeon HD-Series 4650 and up.
Nvidia: Geforce 2xx-Series and up.

You can enable shaders with a better graphics card, though.
