Slow on WINE? Poke your WINE config, the Windows version generally runs/ran better than the native *nix version.

I agree that the native one needs more love though.

If you are using Unity and are on a relatively outdated computer, try using a lighter desktop environment when playing Toribash. Unity is Ubuntu's default environment, and it can be pretty sluggish.

4.2 works on ubuntu through wine properly, 4.3 freezes on start though. You should try 4.2 if you don't care about how old it is.
Anyway I'd like to see newer native toribash versions for linux because I can't use some new features due to this.
Ditch the accelerated 3D desktop crap, WINE hates it causing stability issues.

I don't know, search for "lightweight linux desktop environments".

Personally, I use DWM, but you may not like it. You could probably try Xfce or LXDE.

What Wine version are you using? I tried to run toribash 4.31 on 1.4.1 and it didn't work, and I don't really feel like modifying the configs (using kde btw, that might have something to do with it)
ricky, i'm using 1.4.1

i've done some research and XFCE looks a lot cleaner, and without the unity shit

i'm going to try it out
wish me luck

Moved from Suggestions, this is a better place to wine about issues. (Get it?)
