I want to see it finished

i dont like how you made the the rocks/plates stop at the chin, continue the plates underneath so they wrap underneath the chin with a shadow and stuff to give it some depth

otherwise it looks pretty neat

I liked the expression he has.
And I agree with BenD, the plates can't discontinue in the chin, you could go with them and make the shadows for depth effects.
I'll be watching here.
