I just updated Toribash to 4.7, on start up, I was presented with a login screen that look like this: (view attached image)

Is there a fix? Or am I stuck with this?

Also, the game crashes when I attempt to put it in full screen

Update your drivers.

i had the same problem just update your drivers

I have the same problem and I'm fairly sure that my drivers are up to date.

Find toribash files.
Find the default file.
Open with notepad.
Change things such as fullscreen from 1 to 0

Worked for me.
