this is the first head I have made and I know its pretty bad. I need suggestions on what I could do and any free programs besides Gimp(Which is what I used).

Paint.NET is a good, free program.

I'd say work on your brushes. The lines are very thick and uneven. Try learning how to use the pen tool.

The lines need more work. They are really squiggly.

You should definitely work more on the mapping.
At the moment it's WAY off.

To start it off, you could use some free heads with good mapping as a reference point for eyes, mouth, etc. Don't copy them, though. That's bad, etc.
Either way, work on that and also, lines. They're really messy. You could try to use some sort of pen tool. Haven't been using gimp for too much, so I don't really know how it's called.

Don't make multiple threads for the same piece. Either keep everything in one thread(if you post them in short intervals), or make a thread for every head, if you make them not so often(not as good of an option).
