I never really figured out how to make a mod.

Not really a support question. Go look in the mods forum, there's loads of tutorials.

skulfuk it is a support question, he is asking HOW TO MAKE A MOD, not how to load one. But if you are, just go to setup -> mods -> click one -> click load-> and there you are, a mod

Anyway, yeah the tutorials are pretty old, but they're still valid. If you get really stuck ask someone who makes mods for some tips.
